From the front, Father Pancake, our lovely seaside house in France looks like a cottage but inside it opens out into a big living room and a spacious kitchen, with french doors  onto a sheltered internal courtyard for eating outside.  The house is in the middle of the little village of Le Vieil  on one of the lanes that lead to the sea.   The back gate of the house leads directly into another very quiet sandy lane bordered by hollyhocks which also ends at the beach.  This is the perfect place for boules or other games.

The village has everything you could need less than 100 metres from the front door - a grocery shop which bakes croissants freshly each morning for breakfast, a newsagents, the famous Gustave's cafe and Le Retro, a restaurant.   In the summer season, there is street theatre and other entertainment once a week and a little street market on Saturday evenings.

The Living Area

Previously the bar and crêperie of Le Vieil, the sitting room at Father Pancake, our lovely Noirmoutier rental house, is now a very light room with lots of comfortable seating, a TV and sound system with an open fire for chilly winter nights. There's an expandable dining table that seats up to 14 and lots of space for games or just reading quietly.   It's extremely well insulated so however hot it gets outside, you will be cool within - and vice versa in the chillier months.  There is now excellent Fibre Wifi throughout the house.

The kitchen, which leads off the Sitting Room, is well equipped with 2 ovens, 2 fridges (including a large American one), 2 sinks, a 4 ring induction hob and all sorts of kitchen equipment including the implements needed for attacking shell fish.  Through the big doors, there is an outside eating area with a dining table and superior barbecue.  Parasols are provided as it can get quite hot .

You will find the floor plan for the Noirmoutier rental house here.

Bedrooms & the Studio

The main building of this French holiday rental house has three bedrooms.  On the first floor, there are 2 double bedrooms. The master bedroom at the front of the house with a window onto the village has a 180cm bed. Next door to it there is a smaller, cosier room with sea view and a 160cm bed.

Downstairs there is a big room with 3 single beds and the possibility of a further pop-up bed if wanted to turn it into a dormitory for children.  There is also a travel cot available.

The house is generously supplied with bathrooms.  Most have showers but there is one bath for those that prefer and also for bathing any babies.

The Studio which is across the Courtyard from the kitchen in this French seaside holiday house in  Noirmoutier, France works well for guests, a separate family unit or even for Granny to get some privacy. It has a large sitting room with comfortable double sofa bed (160cm), and a bedroom with a small double bed.
